Riverview Country Market – Charlottetown

A charming market that’s big on local food — and serious about reducing waste.

“Having such a beautiful soap dispenser has made folks turn their heads and ask 'what is that?', which opens the conversation of purchasing a Maritime hypoallergenic laundry detergent that is solving the big problem of containers in our landfills. Our Maritime economy needs MORE companies that reduce waste and provide great products.

Those who are sensitive to chemicals are impressed that they can use them. We even go so far as to have customers who have moved away order a 20L container at a time shipped to them.

We have been carrying Down East products for a number of years and started with the 20L jugs on the shelf with us tipping them over to fill jugs as needed. There were lots of spills, and when we were busy customers were frustrated with the system. During COVID we changed up and moved the containers in the back room where Staff only filled them. This of course didn't showcase we carried Down East products very well and we saw a decline in sales. As soon as the soap dispenser was created we jumped at the chance to showcase a refill station that truly works within our store. Our sales with the dispenser has been taking off ever since!” – Crystal, Riverview Country Market
